Missed Sessions

Life happens — and we want to be fair about it. Here is everything you need to know about how class banking works at Empower Fitness.

Annual Banking Allowance: Members can bank a maximum of 2 weeks' worth of classes per calendar year — across sickness and holidays combined. Single missed sessions are handled separately and do not count towards this allowance.

Why we do things this way

Empower Fitness is a full coaching programme, not a pay-per-class gym. Our membership capacity and weekly scheduling are built around how many sessions members are attending. When too many sessions are banked and rescheduled, it disrupts our capacity planning and affects the quality of coaching for everyone. Our two-week annual banking allowance is generous and fair — it covers the vast majority of holidays and sick periods — while protecting the standard of service we have built for all our members.

How does it work?

Scenario one

I'm sick for a full week

If you are unwell for a full week and miss all of your scheduled sessions, we will bank those classes for you. This counts as one week of your two-week annual allowance.

Message us to let us know you are unwell and will be missing your sessions this week.

We will bank your missed sessions for that week.

You have 12 weeks from the date they are banked to use them before they expire.
Uses 1 week of your annual allowance 12-week expiry from date banked
Annual limit: You can bank a maximum of 2 weeks due to sickness and holidays combined per calendar year. Once your allowance is used, additional missed weeks cannot be banked.

Scenario two

I'm going on holidays

Going away? Great — you deserve it. Fill out our short holiday form in advance and we will bank your sessions while you are gone. Each week away counts as one week of your two-week annual allowance.

Scenario three

I'm dealing with an injury

First and most importantly — please do not stay away because of an injury. Our coaching programme is highly personalised and we can almost always work around whatever you are dealing with.

If you let us know before you come in, we will tailor your session around your injury. Whether that means focusing on a different part of the body, reducing load, or switching to mobility and rehab work — we will make it work for you. Staying consistent, even in a modified way, is always better than stepping away entirely.

Serious injury exception: If your injury is severe — you are in significant pain or unable to move properly — we will bank your sessions for you. This does not count towards your two-week annual allowance. Please just get in touch and let us know what has happened and we will sort it from there.

What if I've used my two weeks?

Once you have used your two-week annual banking allowance, any further missed weeks due to sickness or holidays cannot be banked. Sessions will not carry over. If you are planning an extended period away, please get in touch and we can chat through your options together.
